Sin’s main interests are surgery, and in production animal work. Sin purchased Snowy River Vet Clinic in 2023 and re-branded, bringing to life The Vet & Co. Orbost. Sin’s fur family currently consists of two energetic border collies and four indoor cats. During her downtime, Sin enjoys getting out in the bush for a hike, exploring the gorgeous coastline with her dogs and riding motorbikes.

Dr David Mitchell BVSc

Veterinarian

Dave has been working in veterinary practice since 1987 across a variety of locations: from the UK to the NSW South Coast, he has also done locums throughout Australia as part of an 18 month trip with his young family. A true general practitioner, he has undertaken extra study in diverse areas including ruminant nutrition, small animal ultrasound, gross pathology and avian medicine! At the start of this century Dave became a partner in the Orbost Vet Practice which he subsequently owned and managed until 2023. He is now enjoying being an employed vet, and doing as he's told!
Outside work he enjoys managing a small beef cattle farm, his garden, cycling, and keeping in touch with the rest of his family.

Dr Talia Joy Peachey BVSc (Hons)

Veterinarian

Talia graduated from the University of Queensland, Gatton in 2023. Talia grew up in Queensland, spending her teenage years working with the agriculture program and the beef cattle show team at her high school. She has moved to the area for her first job here at The Vet & Co, and is planning on staying for a few years. She has a special interest in production animal medicine and management. But in saying this, she would also like to increase her knowledge base for both small and production animal practice to become a true general practitioner. In her down time, she likes to get out and walk along the trails, stay home with a book and play videogames with friends

Nickie

Receptionist

Nickie made the big move to Orbost after living in Brisbane and raising her two beautiful boys for the past 30 years. She has a background in animal retail and she has been a fantastic asset to The Vet & Co. team. Nickie is always happy to see clients and their beautiful fur kids and she always has a sneaky treat on hand. At home Nickie has two beautiful and boisterous bull terriers.

She and her family moved to East Gippsland in 2018, from a cattle station in the high country where she furthered her studies in agriculture and artificial insemination in cattle. Karly is currently broadening her skills through veterinary nursing training with Crampton University. In her downtime, Karly is busy managing her farm or getting out in the bush for a hunt.
