Vets & Vet Nurses who care!

At Snowy River Vet Clinic in Orbost, our Vets and Vet nurses are passionate about caring for animals!

Whether it is looking after a loved family pet, or helping farmers care for their valuable livestock, our team strive to provide the best veterinary care available.

We have a team of 3 fulltime Vets and 5 part-time Vet Nurses – all of whom work and live in the local community.

We are also regularly joined by final year veterinary students who help bring the latest knowledge to our Practice while they master their craft.

We love what we do and enjoy helping animals maintain their quality of life, deal with emergencies that invariably arise and build long-term relationships with owners and farmers throughout Orbost and Far East Gippsland.

History:

Snowy River Vet Clinic was started by Dr. Peter Honey in the early 1980s when he moved to the area with his family. Peter built the clinic up from a small part time service to a three Vet Practice, providing high quality medical and surgical services for the pets, horses, livestock and wildlife from Omeo to Mallacoota. Drs. David and Liz Mitchell joined the Practice as partners in 1999, and became full practice owners in 2008 when Peter was invited to take up a teaching post with the new Veterinary Science Faculty at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, NSW.
David and Liz continued building on Peter’s excellent foundation, maintaining and developing the Clinic’s services, facilities and equipment to keep up with the latest developments in Veterinary Medicine.
